Mira Awad

Singer, songwriter, actress and a cultural activist.

Born in Rameh village in the Galilee, 1975, to a Palestinian father and Bulgarian mother. Currently lives in Tel-Aviv.

Mira is a multicultural, multidisciplinary international performer. She studied music at the Rimon School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. Released two solo albums, and collaborated with many international artists: Noa, Idan Raichel, Andrea Boccelli, Bobby Mc’Ferrin and more. Throughout her career, Mira developed a unique fusion of sounds, combining the East with the West, weaving the Arabic language and it’s oriental ornaments with Western harmonies, thus creating unique modern Arabic fusion music, with a rich tapestry of sounds.

As an actress, Mira participated in numerous theatre productions, her most memorable part being Eliza Doolittle in the musical “My fair lady”. She starred on the high rated series “Arab Labor” and hosted several tv shows. She also created and co-write the TV drama “Muna”.

In addition, Mira is an award winning composer for theatre and film. She teaches stage performance and creativity skills, and gives talks around the world.

Mira is an Artivista. She is very much identified with the agenda of dialogue and co-existence, and uses her stage visibility to promote peace and human solidarity.
